Fiat Brava high revs and lumpy tic over

start the car up it runs at high revs between 1800 - 2500 revs, then proceeds to rev itself (no feet touching pedals!) have replaced:
COil pack
HT Leads
Throttle body housing
Stepper motor
Also whole new exhaust system and cat
This problem started (car reving itself) until it reached normal operating temperature and ran fine, but now the car fires and then ust sits at 2500 revs.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FIX THIS PROBLEM ELSE CAR IS OFF TO THE SCRAP YARD IN THE SKY!!!!

Have you removed and cleaned your idle air control valve as they are prone to fault clog up on these vehicles.and control engine revs basically.If not that any codes to give you a clue ? and check for air leaks by spraying around intake area with wd40 and see if revs pick up this will indicate a leak

I have already changed this idle air control valve all be it a second hand one it seemed to rectify the problem until this weekend it has gone back to how it was before, infact worse now as revs up to 2500-3500. are there any other solutions please?

Fit a new one as fitting second hand parts is always a risky business ,well at least with that kind of part.You did say it fixed it.you could try cleaning it but ultimately you are best renewing it.
