Fiat 500 loss of power when fuel level below 5lts... when pulling away or accelerating...?

Car: Fiat 500
Variant: 1.2 Lounge
Model Year: 2010
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
We have owned our 1.2 (Start/Stop) Lounge for 4 months and completed 2750 miles.
We have taken the car back to the Dealer twice now for the same 'intermittent' loss of power problem to no avail...!
However, we think we have now identified th the source of the problem ouselves!
We have notice that just before the low fuel waring light comes on at about 5'lts the car starts 'frumbling when pulling away or being asked to accelerate through gerar changes. As soon as we re-fill the car (yesterday it took 32xlts the noise and loss of power problem goes away! - So check this out for yourself if you have similar loss of power probs. Or it could just be that the fuel siphon from the tank is not mounted at the proper height, or that there has always been some 'water' in the tank sicne prior to delivery and it is only when we get low on fuel that this gets pulled through to the engine...?!?!? So back to the Fiat Dealer for them to Check out next time we run the tank down!

get the tank drained when the fault reoccurs to see how much fuel is in there as the fuel sender might be giving a false reading, you should also check the fuel pick up in tank is not getting blocked up restricting the fuel delivery to engine.

Capacity of fuel tank is 35 litres ,

Fiat 500 1.2 Lounge Fuel Consumption and CapacitiesFuel Type - Unleaded PetrolFuel Capacity35 litres

So if you put in 32 litres as you say , there would be very little left in tank .With movement of car , it could be taking what fuel was there away from pick up pipe .
