Fiat 500 stiff clutch

Car: Fiat 500
Variant: Seicento sporting
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
I viewed a used Seicento which seemd fine, except that the clutch was very stiff, and needed a great deal of effort put on the pedal. Could someone explain what causes this sort of problem.

prob the clutch bearing to gearbox input shaft ment to slide but if excess dirt from worn clutch on shaft tend to stick.means taking gearbox out to clean so may as well replace clutch at same time easy and not to expensive dont let it put you off car.get a quote from a good garage use genuine parts and offer that much less for car.then fit non gen and make a bit for your trouble
