Citroen Xsara air bag light

Car: Citroen Xsara
Variant: 2.0 hdi
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My xsara has got airbag symbol permenantly on. When i brought the vehicle the wires to the passenger seat were disconnected. I reconected them and also turned the air bag switch on and off but still the light is on. Does this mean the air bags dont work and also how do i get rid of airbag light.
Can anyone help please.

when light is on it means fault in system and if you have an accident they would not fire.get codes read by any garage with a scanner that will point to fault.(dont play with wires or plugs eg seat unless you understand system and have removed air bag fuse and waited for system to deactivate(usualy 2 mins)

My dad's Y-reg Xsara had exactly the same problem. It was, as you mentioned, something to do with a loose connection beneath the passenger seat.

In the end, Dad ended up soldering the wires together.
