Citroen Xsara high clutch pedal

my clutch pedal is really high ,I only have to depress the pedal about an inch and the clutch disengages iwondered if this is a sign that the clutch is on its way out as having a bit of trouble getting 1 st into 2nd gear any advice welcome thanks people

Usually a sign of clutch on it's last legs . Up to 2000 I think it was , some of those cars had a auto adjust clutch cable before changing to hydraulic . It's possible yours was an old stock model before being registered , worth checking if a cable our hydraulic .

It could be a clutching hoing out, then again a mate of mine has this problem for the padt 3 years
