Could try this from an earlier post ,
Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - Anything I should look out for!
If you constantly fill up with tiny amounts of derv you will confuse the computer and the fuel gauge will mis read - if you run it down and fill it up it re-sets itself.
Don't know if it works or not .

Yes, filling it up until the pump clicks off will reset the guage - costs a fair bit though!
