Citroen Xsara Picasso dipped headlamps not working

Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Variant: 2.0 ltr Diesel
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Changed from main beam to dip beam and had no headlamps, came home on fogs! Changed both bulbs and confirmed fuses ok but still no luck. Any idea, the chap at the garage where I bought the bulbs did a quick check and reckoned that on some models there is a changeover relay but we couldn't find one. All the dashboard indications are working as they should so I am not inclined to blame the stalk. Any suggestions please?

Thanks

Paul

remove steering column cowl and disconnect grey connector plug in back of comm unit. if still no dipped beam may be fault with under bonnet fuse box this house the relays

Am I correct in assuming you mean remove it and then plug it back in and try the lights again?

did it work?

Unfortunately not - I then got an immobaliser fault message and then the car wouldn't start. Tried the microsoft approach - kill the power and reboot. Still no joy called AA who checked it and too use the technical term declared it - well you can guess. Ended up at the dealer who changed the comm unit due to poor connections that caused the immobaliser problem and the fuse unit as that was why the lamps were knackered.
