Citroen Xsara Picasso fuel gauge

just been to garage and put petrol in but the gauge has stayed on red, jumped up and down on tow bar thinking it was stuck float but it aint worked still on red , any help would be welcomed , thanks

petrol defo went in to car?? maybe gauge is nackered

If it's moving up to red and staying there ,may be tank unit . Came across this re. fuel gauge ,
Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - Anything I should look out for!
If you constantly fill up with tiny amounts of derv you will confuse the computer and the fuel gauge will mis read - if you run it down and fill it up it re-sets itself.
Don't know if it works or not .
