Citroen Xsara Picasso lights

Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
When I start engine sidelights and headlights come on without them being switched on on the stalk. They then go on and off intermittently and teh only solution I have found at present is to drive with sidelights on all the time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Seems to be a common fault, though going by this , opinion seems to vary from faulty switch to BSI unit .

Sounds like you have the auto lighting function switched on (if fitted). If not fitted, usual suspect is the comm 2000 (switch unit) or the under bonnet fuse box/relay unit. Check for signs of water ingress/corrosion in the latter. These two units seem to be much more problematic than the BSI (interior fuse box).
