Citroen Xsara Picasso dashboard display flickers when engine switched off

This is a very common failure for the Citroen Xsara Picasso instrument cluster - the fault usually tends to be a complete failure of one or both display panels.



Internal malfunction of the dashboard cluster may initially cause the entire cluster to be very dim or flicker before total failure.

Thanks for your reply, but the issue only happens when I turn off the engine and the front interior light (driver's one), I also hear a clicking sound, the same sound when you insert the key and turn on the electronics, if I turn off this light while the engine is off this problem stops, but if I turn it on, it starts flickering and doing this clicking sound... Weird Is it really the dashboard panel? Wouldn't it be failing under all circumstances? Could it be an issue with the interior light?

It is like all the electronics in the car are in a cycle of turning on/off, the rear light also turns on and off, but all suddenly stops when:
A) I turn on the engine or switch on the electronic with the key (front light works just fine)
B) Press the front interior light button to turn it on (works in all situations) then the flickering and clicking sound stops and I can leave the car knowing my battery won't die :')

With that car and year , all the faults you mention , I wouldn't know where to start and would pass on to an auto electrician for them to deal with . The clicking could be a sticking relay .
