Citroen Xsara Picasso i have a 2005 picaso 1997cc petrol estate, yesterday it cut out whiilst driving and won't re start, dash board reads (economy mode active) any ideas please ???

When I turn over the engine some thing turns over but just doesn't seem to bit the flywheel it's a if the engine is being prevented and deprived of fuel.???? & has the
Economy Mode Active on dash board when ignition is turned on.

Sounds as if you have a low / flat battery . Could be a dud battery or just needing a charge . Also need to check alternator charging rate is ok . MIGHT start with a jump start .

Thank you for the suggestion, however the battery is A OK, reading out at 12 volts on my meter, the other functions of the car are still all working, lights electric windows indicators etc. all ok, although it sounds like the starter morot is turning ? and the belt for the alternator is also turning, it just doesn't seem
to be biting or the engine.

If your battery is reading 12v , that IS your fault .
A battery is at twenty-five percent or low voltage at around 12.0
