Citroen Xsara Picasso where is the blower resistor?????

Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Variant: 1.6i sx manual
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The heating/air con has packed up completly on every setting on my MK1 xsara picasso. All other parts have been checked and the last thing to check is the resistor. Its not attached to the motor and in dispear i rang Citroen. They said if i remove the front wipers and the plastic/rubber panel/seal and look straight down i would see it. They were wrong and im at my wits end with it. The motor has two wires coming out and vanish into oblivion so its proving difficult to trace the wires to find it. Any suggestions pplleeaassee...........

on a 2001 petrol 1.8 ....remove glove box....remove blower motor....reach inside heater ducting.....the resistor is on the top of the ducting at arms length....you have to twist it out if housing and remove cables with one hand....its tricky but can be done.
