Citroen Xsara Picasso whirring noise while driving and free wheeling

I have developed a whirring noise while driving or free wheeling getting louder and noisier when going faster. Replaced brake pads tyres checked wheel bearings.

Sounds like knackered wheel bearing .

Try driving car then flick the steering both ways to take the load off one side and transfer to the other side and see if noise changes .Sohould work , but not if both sides noisy .Sometimes hard to get it to work if a rear bearing . Watch there are no cops on your tail as you do it , I got pulled up one time on roadtest !!!

Cheers will get it checked out by yet a third garage.

it could also be a transmission fault like a worn diff bearing

Just remembered the o/s driveshaft has a support bearing these can wear. Check that also
