Citroen Xsara Picasso start problems

Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Variant: 2.0hdi
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Im having problems starting my picasso in the morning, All the dash lights come on as they should and they are all bright, but when I try to start it, it wont go. I have to bump it with another car. When it gets going I have to reset the clock, so this is making me think its the battery, but if I leave the car till later in the day it starts no problem, so could this be the glow plugs?
I would be very great-full for any help.

First thing to do would get battery load tested , any fast fit or accessory shop wil do it foc while you wait . Could be weak / dud cell .
