Citroen Synergie fuel relay

my vehicle runs fine when the fuel relay is disconnected but as soon as its plugged in it runs like a bag of bolts and the glow plug light on the dashboard lights up dim along with the engine auto-diagnosis light.

what happens if you disconnect the advance solenoid?
