Citroen Saxo power steering

power steering stopped working when i looked the cables going in to the steering pump were melted.forgot to say the steering is electric . if i put another pump on i was wondering if anyone could tell my how many volts i should have at the power steering pump just in case its over charging from the alternator thanks.

you should be getting 12v volts constant this is a first ive heard of this is there any signs if the cables fouling anywhere as ive not come across this before check this to be sure when you do replace the unit hope this helps

is there a fuse or realay that stops the power stearing working and the heater fan has broke at the same time
