If coolant level not dropping and vehicle has air con , it may just be the air con drain , You need to LOAD test both your battery and alternator , checking voltage readings . Banging noise needs checked , clicking noise is usually caused by a worn driveshaft c/ v joint which is a failable MOT item .

I cant help you with the wiring diagram for that vehicle . If any MOT testing station that passes a car with a track rod end , ball joint , wheel bearing worn and already failed and not repaired should be reported to the MOT authority ASAP , Vehicle should not be on the road and a danger to others . You are stupid to take a vehicle with those defects unrepaired and from what you say , must have a dud , illegal MOT .
