Warning to stop, engine temperature fault temperature went to red and fan came on

Check for coolant loss in reservoir . If level down , check for any sign of leak ,If nothing apparent and no leak , may be a faulty sensor , sticking thermostat to name a few possible causes . May need a coolant pressure test to check system

Brill thanks, I’ve now had it recovered from where I left it last night, recovery guy said it’s possibly the sensor as the fan came on soon as he started it, will let you know the outcome
