Citroen DS3 stop temp fault

Car: Citroen DS3

We are having exactly the same problem. Our DS3 has been back to the garage several times to with no avail & several hundreds of pounds lighter in our pockets. I've once again had to ring the garage this morning after it was supposedly "fixed" yesterday. We know that it's a sensor problem but which one? Any ideas anyone?

After spending that amount of money to get it fixed and no remedy forthcoming , think you must pursue the garage to solve it and they are duty bound to do so . It should not be up to you to find the answer for them . If the garage scanned it with suitable equipment similar to this that the dealership uses , it would give fault codes and may have saved you money and time on parts that have not fixed the problem . Not all scanners have the capability to cover all modules and sensors ..

Thank you for replying. I will have to chase the garage again, however after ringing them twice today they aren't returning my calls (I think thay are as fed up as we are, to put it politely!!!!). I will keep on trying. A dog with a bone, hey ho!!!!!!!!

Hi, I hope I can solve the problem of the temperature control sensor. I've noticed through different website threads that this is an on going problem, where the engine overheats & the fan keeps ongoing. I have since rang Citroen & there was a recall re the Temparature Control Sensor back in 2015 re the DS3 & our car was outstanding for that since then. Said Citroen is now with Citroen dealers for this to be rectified. We have spent over £200 to get to the bottom of this with an other independent garage to no avail, which is no fault of their own, we weren't
informed of the recall. I would advise that if anybody is having the same problem with their DS3, ie: overheating, smell of petrol or eml light coming on with temp fault then contact your local Citroen garage & ask if it should have been recalled. If it should have been then they will fix for nothing (hopefully) anything extra will obvs have to be paid for. I hope this helps.

Hello Heather Earl,
Do you mind letting me know how you got on with this? My car has the same fault, Citroen don't believe its a common issue and say it was never a recall. On the gov website it also doesn't come up as a recall. My independent garage are saying its a big repair, circa £500, and I am concened having researched with so many others with the same issue, that I may be throwing money at it for the fault to still occur. Just wondering if you have any guidance at all as im a bit stumped what to do! Thank you in advance.
