Citroen DS3 ds3 engine management light came on this morning from cold start seemed to misfire then went into limp home mode but the fan was blasting away even though engine was cold and off any ideas?

Model Year: 2013
Had engine management light come on so i got a m8 to read code and reset it the code where misfire. Anyway he reset it and i drove around in it all day no probs !! This morning i got 100 ft and seemed to misfire and went into limp home mode but the fan was blasting away even though engine was cold any ideas??

Is that a diesel or petrol engine in that model ?

Its a petrol…. Just started it again and eml and fan blasting away

Some petrol cars are fitted with a particulate filter Could be the particulate filter regenerating and it will run till it completes the cycle .? Usually fan roars and noticeable engine hear increase .

I had the exact same problem last week. Cam belt sensor and new spark plugs fixed it.
