Citroen C5 car overheats

Car: Citroen C5
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
My car was overheating. I filled up with coolant but after about a 10 mile journey the coolant container was empty. I filled it up again and this time kept the engine running while watching the coolant. I noticed it started to boil and seemed to get less but I could not see where the coolant was going. Is this a problem with the coolant container or is it a problem with the thermostat.

Please help. Thanks.

if there is no traces of water on the floor or around the engine or radiator then you have a head gasket problem and the water is leaking in to the cylinders and out of the exhaust but have this checked out before does but with you saying that you did a ten mile trip and it needed topping up again would say to me headgasket problem
