Hi,

Not exactly a solution but I have the same problem. It occurs when I try to accelerate quickly and the engine goes to tickover speed. If I turn off the ignition and immediately turn it back on, it returns to normal. However you must leave the clutch engaged or you will lose power for the breaks & steering. I don't know if this will work with an automatic.
