Try changing the fuel and air filters..

It sounds like it has gone into limp home mode. do you have a management light on?

The air filter looks brand new,i haven't checked the fuel filter yet but the car does have a full service history so i am expecting it to be good.

Regarding limp mode there is no warning lights on and i dont know if this makes a difference but i am able to reach much higher rpm when not going up a steep hill(in my last less powerful car i able to go up the hill in 4th)

Thanks

Maybe there is a little bit of fuel starvation going on...

Thanks for your input

I am currently investigating fuel problems and i will be changing my fuel filter as soon as the engine cools down.

Some more symptoms:when the car is cold in the morning it starts ok but when i try to move it stalls.

I will keep you informed of my progress

Try the throttle cable. I had similar problem, took a while to identify. Check that the throttle peddle is not too low

throttle peddle should it be in lighn with break and clutch as mine is low to ground no power when going up hills thought i had solved it by changing the a air intake valve for turbo not done checked eloys have refilled and had limp home tooken off still loosing power on hills great on flat revs up to 5000 revs no problem stuck????????

I had the same problem earlier this year with my C5, everyhing was pointing at a fault with the turbo system and mainly to the turbo boost pressure solenoid! After lenghthy investigation i found it to be the air flow meter, an easy way for you to check this is start the car and whilst it is running disconnect the air flow meter, drive the car and see if it drives as it should if it does then a new meter is req. If you disconnect the meter with the engine stopped it will still be the same sluggish self as before. Good luck, i hope this works for you.
