2012 Citroen C4 intermittent gear box problems

Needs scanned with appropriate equipment that covers transmission for stored fault codes and acted on results .

I know that would be the obvious answer and spend £150 . It was just thought that someone else had the problem and would share the answer with me

You could try a local transmission specialist who may have come across your problem before and could advise on cause and cost to repair , often free if not needing to test / carry out a diagnostic check .

Thank for your help. But no one wants to touch it. , saying “ we don’t have the right software for it”and to pay someone to look at it to be told “ we can’t find anything but it still going to cost for the time “, I think it’s a trip to the scrap yard and see how much i can get for 27000mile Citroen

You could check all transmission related plugs . wiring . connections . Not on your car but other makes I've resolved some that had this and it was a simple electrical fault caused by corrosion on connector pins .

Another thought , check for any excessive wear on gear linkage / selector cable in case not fully engaging

I will go through them again. But it so annoying after I check things and try it work . Drive forward . Back everything work but after driving it quarter of a mile it stops working and it back to same fault. Switch off and level it for 20 seconds to reset it self and most times it will drive ok change gears but for no reason it stops , no driver and same message on the dash . I think i upset it and it gets it revenge on me. It got to be something like Corroded or a fault relay . I have checked all the multi blocks fuses its so stupid It a great car and I like it but it a little old to spend two thousand as one place quoted me.
