Citroen C4 engine management light coming on.

Car: Citroen C4
Variant: 1.6hdi
Model Year: 2013

Engine management light coming on, diagnostics check pointed to egr valve, had egr valve changed and 8 days later, engine management light back on again? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Fault codes showing are; P1162/P0409/P0490/P12B4/P129F/P11B2.

All fault codes showing relates to issues with EGR Valve (Again).

Provided it wasn't some cheap , import parts you used , check all wiring and plugs / connections . If nothing obvious you may need to get it scanned with Diagbox and someone who can interpret the findings

Thank you very much for your assistance. I have had all the codes wiped except for; P11B2. Would not let it wipe from diagnostics machine for some reason. Have taken the car for a run since and engine fault light back on again. Have arranged for a further scan tomorrow to see what it says now, hopefully it will pinpoint the fault, but I do think what you stated is probably the underlying fault. Thanks again, and I will re-post the outcome if successful.

Took vehicle to a top diagnostic specialist to try and get to the bottom of the problems showing on my dashboard and this finally resolved all the issues regarding engine management light, What they informed me was that the ecu unit had a corrupt file inside, he re-programmed this and removed the corruption and (Hallejulah) all the dashboard faults have completely gone, I actually think that I had the egr valve exhanged and it was probably ok all along. Hope this info helps anyone having the same problems as I was.
