Granted the AA guy tested the brake pedal switch but that's still where I'd start.
is there voltage at the switch terminals?
have you tried bridging the terminals with a split pin?
The next test would ne to load test the pin terminals.
A side light 5w bulb connected should light.
I can't count the times that a volt meter will read 12V but cant carry current.
if even one strand of wire is intact it WILL read correct Voltage but wont carry current.
To quote the inventor of the "Load Pro" test lead (You tube that)
There's only 3 possible faults,
open circuit = no volts,
short circuit =0,0 volts
or high resistance circuit.
