Citroen C4 tailgate unlocking

Car: Citroen C4
Variant: VTR+ Coupe
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have an intermittant fault on my C4 which my local citroen dealer have tried to fix without success, when I press the key fob to unlock the doors,or sometimes when I open the drivers door, the tailgate not only unlocks but releases, itself, it then takes several attempts to get the tailgate to stay closed,it keeps releasing its self,
a new micro switch was fitted to the lock but that made no difference.it would appear that unless the system stops working altogether nothing can be done.
can anyone out there help ??

I have the same problem with a 2007 registration C4. Earlier C4s had a problem with the wireing loom to the tailgate and were subject to a recall - for cars with VINs ending in the range 74343514 to 74530340. Citroen claim that later cars don't have this problem but mine does, my VIN is higher than this range. My local dealer couldn't replicate the problem (it's intermittent) and suggested a replacement wiring loom to the tailgate at a cost of about £650+VAT. Instead I've emailed Citroen through their website to demand someone contacts me about this.

See the VOSA website: http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/expand.asp?uniqueID=8B0B834BBA4B823D8025786900325DD1&freeText=Blank&tx=

Hope this helps.
