Citroen C4 gearbox or clutch?

Car: Citroen C4
Variant: 1600 VTR+
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi, I have a 2007 C4.
I appear to have a horrible rubbing sound when driving. It is worse in 1st gear and gets less as I go up the gears. The noise appears louder when I depress the clutch and allow the car to roll esp if 1st gear is selected. However there is no noise when I allow the car to roll in neutral.
The noise itself is similar to the sound made when the brake pads very low or scored.
The clutch is riding very high but there is no slip when pulling away and rev levels appear to be normal thoughout the gears.
The noise has suddenly got excessive after a 150 motorway drive from Plymouth to taunton and back...
Any suggestions...

Possibly clutch bearing ?

If its the clutch bearing will it be ok to drive with it for another few days or does it need replacing ASAP...
I need the car , expected journey distance ~120 miles.... Mainly using 4th and 5th gears.

With a high clutch pedal and " The noise has suddenly got excessive " would be wary of going too far in case it collapses ( if that is the problem )You really need to get a garage to listen to noise and confirm or not . You will have problems getting somewhere open at this time of the year .It could last , impossible to tell though . Best of luck .
