Citroen C4 engine cutting out

Car: Citroen C4
Variant: Picasso 1.6 Hdi VTR+
Model Year: 2008
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The engine cuts or almost cuts - similar to a stall - apparently when the speed has dropped but not much brake pressure has been applied i.e. when gears have not been used to slow the car. This sometimes happens when turning a corner or if cars in front are slowing..... This is about as near as I can get to describing the problem. The car is serviced to current mileage (approx 26k) and has had a new fuel filter within the past six weeks to try to alleviate the problem. Have been told it could be fuel filter or possibly fuse box water ingress although no water visible. Any ideas? Obviously this could also happen to Peugeot who have the same engines.

I know nothing about cars but my old car did a similar thing for a few months before it cut out completely and i couldnt get it started! turned out i needed a new coil ignition kit. don't know if that helps, and i may be totally wrong, but hey ho!

Does it ever happen without touching the brakes at all?
