Car OK in first four gears, but 5 and 6 not there. No warning light. Dealers quote £6000 for new box. Gear stick moves but revs increase and car slows! Only, 23000 miles in 5 years.

If manual , sounds like clutch worn and slipping . Also gear linkage / selector mechanism needs checking for 5 and 6 gears fault
