Citroen C3 n/s door closing not closing

Car: Citroen C3
Variant: HDi SX
Model Year: 2004
The door closed at the dealers where I bought it but a second attempt when showing the car to my brother the door did not close. I inspected the catch mechanism and it will roll over to the lock position when pushed over with my finger, but will not catch when shutting the door. It seems as if a new catch/door maybe needed. Any advice or knowledge would be gratefully recieved.

is the car a 3 door? sometimes the door can drop slightly. you can tap the catch on the car down so the door catches it.

thanks, I can open the door from the inside and outside when I do mange to force the door enough for the catch to (partly) engage. By flicking the indoor handle is that because the cable to the catch mech might be stuck?

Something else totally irrelevant to my earlier questions is... I checked my cars online Vosa MOT test certificates and the Certificate the dealer gave me had 89,125 miles on the Odometer... two certificates before that one the mileage read 146,000+ miles ???? What the flippin hell is going on there? All I can think is its been in a smash (which if you look at the work on all the nearside bodywork it has) and had another engine put in or something fishy is going on??? Can anyone enlighten me?

Car must have been clocked .Doesn't matter if another engine fitted , you dont turn mileage back . If it was me I would get car back to dealer ASAP for a refund .Take it dealer didn't tell you the correct mileage car had done ?

if u flick the door lock with your finger u have to pull the lever inside to release it. sombody has changed the clocks to lower the mileage get rid of it.
