Citroen C2 struggling to start

I'm really hoping someone can help me find the answer to my question
The engine turns over and the battery is still strong but it really battles to ignite and start. I have to play with the throttle pedal to try get it to go and after some time of keep trying to start it it will only finally start.
I really am confused as to why this is happening!

First thing to check would be the plugs .
