Citroen Berlingo large amounts of white smoke

when started there is large white smoke out of exhaust and carrys on when you try and drive off, also very slugish

Does it overheat? Check the coolant level when it's cold. If it's using coolant I reckon this is the head gasket.

Also try putting something near the exhaust while engine is running. If you get lots of condensation/ moisture on it this points to head gasket too.
