Citroen Berlingo wont start - i hear a clicking noise and heater plug light goes out

Car: Citroen Berlingo
Variant: 19d
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I've had this intermittent problem for a while, now it just wont start.

My van would always start first time after the heater light went out.

Now when I turn on the ignition I hear a click, and the heater light on the dash goes out as quick as it comes one.

The light doesnt say on anymore as if it was heating the heater plugs.

I have replaced all heater plugs as was told might be the problem but not.

Can anyone help. Van just sitting in drive way.

Thanks

Sounds as if battery flat , try a jump start .Id it starts get battery tested and alternator output checked . Simple tests that most fast fit depots will do foc normally .

Its not the battery...

I mean i hear a click coming from the passanger side under the bonnet, only clicks once.

When I hear the click the heater plug light on the dash goes out, it stays on for a split second.

Sure it's not a click from starter solenoid ?

Im not sure, its coming from a small black box on the passenger side. Think its something to do with ignation/heater plugs.

I can bump the van down the hill and once i get it started it will start again as long as its warm.

Sounds like a relay ?

As far as I can find out,

Glow Plug Relay On Citroen Berlingo Van is
under the air filter. It's known as the preheating system control unit. Google the number on the side of the unit, and you will find the unit is a Fiat part as well.

Really don't know if this is correct or not .

i have connected a wire from the battery and touched one of the heater plugs for a few seconds and van starts first time now.

What could be causing this, is it a rely?
I cant see nothing beside the airbox

I have a a feeling that they have there own fuse.
It won't be one in the cab though, it will be one of the big ones under the bonnet.
