The horn chirps every now and then, and then goes off all by itself for about 10 seconds, and then stops. I have changed the battery in the key remote, this has done nothing, and sometimes the horn just goes off by itself when I am driving the van, so doesn't indicate any battery problems to me......
When the horn goes off when the engines is on, and I am in the van, if I pull the casing back to the horn on the steering wheel, this seems to stop it.
Maybe there is a faulty connection? The most annoying thing is that it only ever seems to go off by itself in the early hours of the morning, pissing everyone off.
Can I just disconnect the horn for now?
Thanks

Illegal to knowingly drive with horn disconnected . Would seem from what you say that there is a wiring fault / short But if going off during night it can be caused by alarm going off due to a low car battery that drops voltage further when sitting unused and triggers it

Thank you, but does that explain the horn going off whilst I am driving it and engine is running? Re: low car battery?

Not really as alternator should be charging battery when driving but could be two separate faults ? When you driving more likely to be wire touching / shorting and blowing the horn
