Hi
Probably the reversing switch has stuck or failed to fully open. Check to see if it has a fuse you can pull but ensure that fuse does not control other items such as electric mirrors.
You could remove the bulbs.
The switch is fitted to the gearbox in most cases and is a cheap fix for your local garage to check and replace.
It may have created a dtc in the diagnostic centre which may have to be cleared (usually at cost).

It is a 10 minute job to change reverse light switch . Just pull the plug / connector off as a temp measure .No codes will be stored or need to go into garage .
