Chrysler Voyager doesn't want to go into drive when cold

Car: Chrysler Voyager
Variant: 3.3 le auto
Model Year: 1998
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
When I start the voyager from cold she doesn't want to go into drive, when I put her into drive all the gear indicator lights come on and she will not pull away. If I warm the engine she will then go into drive and pull away, however, she sounds like an electri forklift.

check the transmission oil level because if this is low then you will get the symtoms you are getting but you must check this while the car is running otherwise you will get false readings and only put a little oil in at a time as you dont want to overfill it
