BMW 3 Series right rear wheel

the right rear wheel makes a loud clunking noise when moving the faster you go the faster the noise gets i have had the wheel off but not seen anything was wandering if anyone knows what it might be, also when you get to about 30 or 40 it sounds like something has dropped off and bouncing against the wheel.

Could be knackered wheel bearing or c/v joint on driveshaft .
