BMW 3 Series misfire on cylinder 4 with fuel cut off

Car: BMW 3 Series
Variant: 316 TI ES COMPACT
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
If I accelerate hard with the engine running at about 1500 rpm the engine misses and then runs roughly until the revs increase. If I dip the clutch and give it a burst of revs it clears it. The engine light comes on then flashes then goes out. I plugged a fault code reader in just after the light had gone out and it came up with P1349 MISFIRE CYL 4 WITH FUEL CUT OFF. Also it doesn't pick up straight away from idle when the engine is warm.
Anyone got any idea's

Looks like you have a coil pack breaking down under load .

I replaced the spark plugs, didn't make any difference. I replaced the coil pack in cyl 4 and it ran as though it was only firing on three. I put the old coil back in and it ran the same as before. Don't know if I've been sold a dodgy coil

Ok ,have you tried swapping with a known to be good coil from another cylinder to prove it,s the coil. Also do not forget poor compression test and injector can also cause misfire

Also make sure you are getting a good spark in case it,s wiring issue to coil.

Problem sorted. The original coil pack was breaking down. The new coil pack was a duff. I exchanged the new coil for another one and it now runs like a dream. Thanks for the help guys.
