BMW 3 Series engine rev range

when i first start the car and for the first ten minutes of driving i have full rev range. then for no reason at at 4000rpm all the engine safety mode lights come on and it wont go over 4000rpm. if i take it out of gear and rev the engine its restricted / limited to 4000rpm. if i switch the car off and then restart it i have my full rev range. plugged it on to a computer and it come up with throttle position censor. have replaced foot pedel t.p.censor and stepper motor on engine side but still have same problem. smg gearbox has come up with no faults. any ideas anyone

could be one of the engine managment ecu could get to be loads of dosh

you need to run a diagnostics on it while the problem is occuring,most likely could be the air flow sensor but u shud have a management light on.

i had same problem and it was air flow sensor
