Audi A3 car alarm going off after unlocking car

Pretty self explanatory: unlock the car, get in, alarm goes off.
I turn the ignition and the alarm immediately stops, and the issue doesn’t occur whilst the car is running or when it is locked, it is only for the period of time between the car being unlocked and the ignition being turned.
Any similar problems?

Possibly one of your locks is not fully unlocking ,take it your using fob to remote unlock

Yeah I am, I’ll give the key a shot to see if that makes a difference.

Update, I used the key to unlock the drivers door and that seemed to stop the alarm from sounding, but not the lights flashing when I unlocked the boot. Very odd.

There was problems years back on that car with water getting in to the lock assembly .

It may have been linked to the rear washer / hose leaking but I really cant be certain if it was on that car or not . Or may have just been water ingress in general from another source .
