I would say they after quizing them, they took a long time to fix the problems I had already identified for them. Their bill was probably 25-30% more than what it should be (+£350). Feel somewhat ripped off. Straight forward sorting wheel speed sensor (they didn't test cruise control and were inexperienced in this area of fix). Changed front bush and arms (ok). Said they would put a new brake feed pipe (but didn't and instead did a 2 part join using orginal pipe which I said I didn't want at the beginning). Unwilling to sort out rear coil springs (bizzare). Got car noise from something rattling which wasn't there before. They messed up coolant reservoir (failed to put back a nut that holds the reservoir in situ)..also level sensor fail (was not like this before). I would go somewhere else as secretly they will overcharge at every opportunity and work quality is sub-par. Talk the talk but they can't walk the walk. F -

What a life saver this place was. My 2010 Polo dashboard was lighting up like a Xmas Tree with various warning lights and was on "limp" mode. I took it to Western VW who said it could be a number of things but estimated £1800 repair!!?? I couldn't afford This bill so I had previously been recommended to use Heriothill Garage in Leith.

I met the owner Allan Harkness and his two mechanics. All were diligent in offering an immediate assessment within 5 minutes of arriving. Instead of saying like Western VW "it could be a number of things", they offered one of two things and tried the cheapest repair first as suggested by their top of the range fancy "Snap On" computer, then said it must be a stretched timing chain.

Allan actually worked into the wee hours to get me back on the road for the next day (I actually saw him still working on my car 9pm!).

The car is now working better than when I first got it as a brand new car in 2010.

And the price for this platinum professional service...I'm actually quite embarrassed owing to hours he worked on it is 25% cheaper than what Western VW had quoted if it as a stretched timing chain.

Would I recommend? OMG, in a bloody heart beat.
Great to amazing and friendly customer from a local company. I have no idea where the previous reviewer got his experience from as it didn't reflect, in any way, to the amazing service I received at a very very competitive price. (Don't tell HH Garage, but I would have been happy to pay more than their invoice!!)

Any issues again, I'll be straight to them. Hopefully though, not for a long time.
