At Sparshatts Of Fareham we can offer the following MOT tests
Class 4 | Cars, Vans and Motorhomes (up to 12 seats). Goods Vehicles under 3 tonnes |
H, Southampton
I have had two services by Sparshatts of Fareham.
Despite being a franchised Mitsubishi dealer, they did not stock simple Mitsubishi consumables such as brake pads. These had to be ordered in, meaning I was without my vehicle for two days. This is unacceptable from a main dealer.
I reported a severe fault, and they were unable to find the problem until the next service a year later.
They tried to charge £64 extra for a set of tyres compared to another local garage. When challenged, they managed to find the same tyre cheaper elsewhere, although I suspect they were simply trying to make more money out of trusting customers.
They claimed to have done a visual health check on my car, and performed a full MOT test, however they failed to spot a potentially dangerous fault which should have resulted in an MOT failure.
The only reason I do not give Sparshatts a rating of 1 out of 10, is because the majority of the staff are friendly and polite, although the service recieved is unacceptable for a franchised main dealer. If you own a Mitsubishi in the Portsmouth / Southampton area, my recommendation is to use a backstreet garage, because the service will be no worse, but the price almost certainly cheaper.

On attempting to take possession of a new car purchased through Sparshatts of Fareham,
the cars paintwork had been physically damaged by the garages preparation team. This was
initially not admitted by Sparshatts. They continue to maintain that after another clean, the noticeable scratches would go, and anyway new cars come like that. The scratches were caused by a contract vehicle cleaner, employed by Sparshatts. The scratches were still there even after a restoration polish using a mechanical polisher was applied. Trying to maintain the requirement for the purchase of a new car as per contract, the Skoda manager said he could now send the car to an approved external paintwork restorer. This was declined. His manner was take it or leave it, and was really not interested in any other suggested line of resolution. This car had been on order for 5 months, including a 7 day delay at Sparshatts after arrival.
The difference between new and restored seems to be obvious, but not to Sparshatts of Fareham. The car is registered in my name and still want a this model, but to be told that new negotiation on a different car at todays offers would have to take place seems to dishonor any agreement. I feel let down by Sparshatts and would advise caution in dealing with them.
