Eastwood Garage

We have used Eastwood for many many years now and the level of service has always been very good. The standard of work is excellent and the staff are friendly and very knowledgable. This is a garage that will never rip you off and always let you know the price of any work before it is undertaken. We recommend them to everyone. Great garage.

I have nothing but praise for this garage they have sorted problems on various cars for me over the past few years sorting problems other garages have failed to and without costing the earth. I always use them for my alfa gtv and espace and now use them for the wifes audi for servicing. Great work and reasonable cost.

I wouldn't recommend this garage or use them again. We've used them twice, 2 different vehicles (mine and my wife's), and same problem both times....never again! They were asked to check out a problem and then to phone to discuss before proceeding to fix. They didn't phone to discuss, just went ahead and did the work...more complicated than originally thought, expensive bill on both occasions. Very disappointing because they seem like nice people when you go in.

I've been bringing my car to Eastwood for over 10 years now - mot, servicing and whatever needs doing - in fact, they've seen me through several cars. I now live in the South East and bring my car down to have it serviced, if this co-incides with seeing my family. They are fair, honest and their work is very good. I find them approachable, informative and very helpful.

I'm new to the area and after reading the above review decided that this garage seemed like a safe bet.

I took my car there for a MOT and after paying for the test was told it would cost £250 to repair it, it's an old car so I considered it for a couple of days but with the cold weather this winter I decided it was worth it.

I returned and stressed to the mechanic how skint I am at the moment, I politely asked him to tell me if it looked like it would cost any more than the quoted price and gave him my phone number.

He never called so I returned to pick up my car at the agreed time, I was kept waiting for quite a while, while he served customers that had arrived after me (I believe this was because he didn't want them to witness him telling me the increase in price). Once the waiting area was clear of other customers he told me that more labour was required than he expected and this rose the cost to £370 (an increase of £120, he had given me no pre-warning about this despite me asking him to), after being made to wait I was already late for work and was left with no choice but to pay.

When I finally got my car, in replacing the windscreen washer pump the mechanics had reversed the Windscreen washer pipes, meaning I could only wash my windscreen if the rear wiper was on. -I had to go out of my way and take my car back to get this fixed.

I will never return to this garage, and would not recommend it.

We have used Eastwood to keep our 1995 Alfa on the road for the last five years. They have been able to sort electronic faults which our previous garage didn't have a clue about, and they have always sold us parts at reasonable prices (Alfa parts can be pricy) and have always charged us fairly. When we needed a new ABS unit they didn't get some stupidly expensive new one, but told us to find a second hand one on the internet which we did. They then fitted it for us.
Always excellent!
