Problem with vehicle: Brakes failed, pedal down to the floor and nothing. As no leaking fluid I suspected master cylinder.
I am new to the area and didn't know any car repair shops in Torquay. In the various papers I inherited with the car which was bought locally, I saw the receipt from the last MOT was Parkside, so I decided to give them a try first as they knew the car to some extent. Very friendly reception and made every effort to fit me into their busy post-public holiday schedule.
Being an older car, the job did throw up a few extra 'surprises' than just the master cylinder, so also replaced were rear cylinders, pipes and at the front, new pads and a repair to 1 of the calipers and the pad wear warning sensor, plus full system flush, bleeding, fresh fluid. While they had the car, they phoned regularly with progress reports, a nice touch.
They had some problems bleeding the system, and at the end of the 1st day's work, weren't 100% happy it was right, wanted to keep it longer and pressure bleed it until they were 100% happy it was perfect, which gives me a lot of trust in them for safety and quality of work plus did not charge extra labour. On collection, all old parts that they had replaced, receipts for the new parts etc were shown to me, not that I asked, but a nice touch I thought.
5 star, highly recommended. Good old fashioned friendly, thorough service and very reasonable rates and certainly will keep using them
