Mick, Worksop

Just had a radiator re-cored by these guys, less than impressed.
Collected it after 4 days and a supposed pressure test. Fitted to my car and water leaked out. No way had it been tested.
Called them, and they took it back for repair again.
Collected and asked to see it tested, FAILED.
Repaired again and passed the pressure test. 3rd time lucky.

When recoring old copper and brass radiators, the original tanks are occasionally a problem due to age and corrosion. The problem does generally not arise until the initial point of issue, this being the radiator- has been recored/rebuilt and is in use with constant pressure running through it. Any slight weakness of the tanks will become apparent once in use amd under pressure. We always try to make the customer aware of this possiblity, but due to age and condition is sometimes unavoidable. The radiator was not leaking from the new core we had fitted, it was leaking from the original tanks, which was not the issue we were addressing. The tanks were duly repaired and made good.
