Son took car in as there was a metal grinding sound coming from the rear brake.
This car had complete a full set of disks and
pads renewed 3 months ago at a cost of over 500 £ from the same garage.
I had to collect the car for my son, they told me there was no fault and gave me the keys. When I drove the car the noise was still there... they sent me away with faulty brakes !!!!!! . I didn't leave their car park and took it back. Rab Burness drove the car and said he had no idea how they missed this
I had to leave the car overnight and was told a new caliper was needed , the pads were wrecked but the disk was usable.
When I pick the car up I was told they initially ordered the wrong part and then had to reorder the correct part. This took another day.
The cost for this repair was an additional170£
As a offer of goodwill they said they didn't charge me for the new pad. There was no breakdown of the parts on the invoice.
I challenge they cost and reminded them they redone the brakes 3 mths ago.
No apology no explanation no cost movement
Would avoid at all cost
Will not be back

so, i took my car along and told them what i thought was wrong with it, (a hole in the turbo hose)
At first they agreed with me but when i went to pick it up they said they had changed the DPF and my cat (cost 740) i was surprised but who am i to disagree i thought.
Driving the car away it was the same in performance (limp mode) and smoke was now coming from my engine bay!!!!
Clearly hadn't even been road tested.
so took it back as obviously they had made a mistake somewhere, they phoned me a few days later saying the problem was sorted with the exhaust but now they think i have some sort of sensor problem so that was changed too.
picked the car back up after it spending about 9 days in total along there and had even more lights on the dashboard than ever the original problems still not sorted.
to cut a long story short i took it to forth auto electrics and they found the fault in a few hours HOLE IN THE TURBO HOSE!!! like i told FAC in the first place.
I will never go back to fife auto centre ever again, no idea what they are doing, crap comms as the guy was calling the wrong number to tell me it was fixed too, he has no people skills whatsoever as every call i had was very awkward and weird, they just scammed me out of 740 quid changing parts that were nothing to do with the problem.
They are not just a bad garage but con artists too.

I suppose this is what they need to do to make a profit if they cant find faults.

Took my Z4 for an MOT. Very friendly staff, absolutely no unnecessary work done. I would definitely recommend based on my experience.

I have used F.A.C. for all my servicing and the MOT on my Chevrolet, which was bought new in 2008 - The servicing has been first class and not too expensive - I recommend them.
