I am new to the area and was looking for a mechanic as my car would'nt start i read some of the good reviews dougie had and called him, he came and towed the car away ,sorted the problem quickly and charged a very reasonable price,the car has been in several times now and i have allways had the best service. i have now recomended him to a few friends and they are also delighted with the honest and reliable service.

A mechanic you can trust is worth his weight in gold! Dougie Reid is honest, if the work doesn't need to be done, he'll tell you. If it needs to be done he'll do it at a price that always makes me think he's under charged me. Not only that, but he's a really nice guy. Angela's lovely too. Between them they make you feel very welcome.

I've been a customer for over 10 years and have recommended him to everyone who will listen.

He's the sort of mechanic I hope I would have been had I become a mechanic!

the first time i met dougie i had just bought a used ford mondeo from a main dealer and having had the car for two months their was a squeeling noise from under the bonnet as u and i and dougie all knew {ITS THE FAN BELT} but the ford garage could not find the problem they did tell me however to spend £600 on other faults they had found i instead asked dougie to fix my car long story short he told me they were at it he told me it only needed the belt replaced as the ford garage had fitted the wrong one i have now trusted dougie with various type,s of cars for about 10 years

I have been to many garages in the past and have been RIPPED OFF many a time. i have been going to Dougie's for a number of years. Have followed him from meadowbank to Portobello and now to Wallyford. He is definitly the best mechanic around and has a great team working for him. He always has time for you and if something doesn't need done he will say so...unlike some other garages i have been to in my time. i have also recommended him to my friends. Keep up the good work!

I live in Edinburgh and have gone to garages there where you just get ripped off, told lies etc. Have been going to Dougie for 2 years now and find him to be the best mechanic around. No matter how busy he is, he still makes sure he explains everything, no BS from him, unlike other mechanics. I also find him to be cheaper than other garages in edinburgh. I would recommend him to anybody who lives in edinburgh, especially those who may have just moved to edinburgh and are unsure of a good garage. Quality mechanic!

Superb mechanic-will recommend to anyone. Dougie is very hardworking, trustworthy and helpful. I've gone to him for 10 years and have never been let down. He's very honest and the prices are more than reasonable. It can be daunting, as a woman, to go to a new garage incase you get ripped off.
