Some years ago I had a rather old Overfinch Range Rover with a 6.4 litre engine and a Special Overfinch transfer box. This blew up in a spectacular way and required to be replaced. Overfinch quoted a ridiculous figure so Dan got on the phone and sourced a second hand one in Tayside. He drove me up one evening. He pronounced it suitable and I bought it . He fitted it and all was good. He also looked after my 1944 Willy's Jeep. Everything he did was above and beyond the call of duty. Everyone I referred to him was equally delighted.

This is the only garage in Leith that provides a service you'll want to use again and again. These guys are professional, honest and do a wonderful job. They're also easy on the budget too.
Once you've tried them you won't go elsewhere.

Use your loaf and save your bread when you need a car repair. This garage is the icing on the cake. Brilliant service ,and great pricing too.

Recently, my car had a worrying oil leak, called Dan, he was enthusiastic and genuinely interested, dropped the car off, I was called a few hours later, the problem had been identified, parts ordered, I got my car back the same day and the price was excellent. Everyone I came into contact had a consistently high standard of customer service.

Quite simply the best and most honest garage on the planet surely. Top notch workmanship, friendly staff, and so so so so honest about what is wrong with the car, options to save money while fixing it. I have had problems with my recent cars and I cannot think of any a more pleasant experience than taking it to Tomson's. Go Dan!!

A friend recommended Dan Tomson, plus I read the fantastic reviews here, beforehand,I've got to say the experience of having my brakes fixed was absolutely first class, Dan is extremely professional and courteous.
I got my car back the same day and the price charged was very reasonable indeed.

Just got my front right disk brake repaired. Even though the diary was full for that day, Dan ensured my car was seen to and the job was done within the next hours. Fantastic garage. It has been recommended to me last year when I had problem with the gear stick in my fiesta. Other garages quoted me hundreds to fix it but Dan sorted it on his lunch break for fraction of the price... Recommended!

After being charged elsewhere for work that didn’t solve the problem, I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found Dan’s garage. Fixed it and refused to charge me for “ten seconds’ work” - never mind the time he spent diagnosing and testing it. He even topped up my screenwash.

This garage was recommended to me by my niece who has taken her car to Dan on a number of occasions. I was quoted by another garage around £600 for repair work needed on a Ford Fiesta to pass the MOT however Dan did it for £275 They even queried the original garage that failed the MOT as to why it required a "particular repair" when the part was actually in good order and was informed a genuine error had been made at the time of inspection and should have been a much cheaper area of car needing repaired for MOT and was duly corrected, thus saving me money, thank you Dan, will definitely return.

Dan is certainly the man ! I took my car to this garage after reading good reviews and was not disappointed. I have a four year old Fiat Panda 1.1 Active and have had an intermittent problem with it for a year now. It keeps cutting out and spluttering with the Engine management light coming on. I have taken it to a Fiat Dealership who said there was nothing wrong with the car. The garage I bought the car from washed their hands of it, and another two garages tried and failed to fix it. I left it with Tomsons who have run diagnostic and engine tests and hopefully have fixed the problem. (time will tell). Dan is very helpful and honest, spending a lot of his spare time trying to get a solution to my problem. If I would have taken my car to a lot of other garages I would have been charged a fortune on time alone. As stated by Dan you will get a bill when the car is fixed, (which was VERY reasonable considering the amount of time spent on the car). I cannot rate this garage highly enough. If you are looking for an honest, reliable, caring mechanic who wont rip you off go to Tomson Motor Co.

Chose this garage after reading amazing reviews online and it couldn't have been better. Took car in this morning for a faulty ignition switch and was driving away by the afternoon, despite me just dropping in.
Guys were all so friendly and seemed to genuinely care about you as a customer, something which I doesn't happen all that often, on top of that the price was well below what I expected.
Can't recommend them enough, it feels amazing to know that there are good guys out there.

I am so happy to have met Dan after years of taking my car and van to other garages. I would highly recommend Thomson Motors to anybody who is loking for an honest, reliable mechanic/garage. This guy will give you good service for a good price! I'm very happy with his service.

The best garage I have used and I have used many due to poor cars haha! Dan is great guy and extremely kind when it comes to the bill. He would rather repeat business than make a an extra 20%!!
If you live near this garage there is no other option. I got quoted 170 £170 for some work I needed doing... phoned Thomson's not knowing who they were and got the job done the next day for £120... and to top standards...says it all.

Found these and other good reviews for Dan on the web, and because he is just round the corner from us got in touch when we picked up our new car. He and his guys gave it a quick look over for free and we arraged some expected more major work for later.

They seem like really good guys, know what there talking about, very accommodating and gave very reasonable quotes for the work.

Dan and his mighty team of mechanics have kept our cars on the road for years.

The garage is on the LRT Number 22 bus route and ideal for town.
