Ravenscroft Motor Group

Although very helpful and reasonably priced, over the last few years I've been using Ravenscroft I've noticed some concerning things.

All was well up until last year (2010) when I put my car in for a service & MOT. I was phoned up later that day to be advised I needed a new timing belt. I was surprised, as I had only had it changed the year before...by Ravenscroft!!!

I thought nothing of it as we all make mistakes, but I was shocked to find that when I picked up my car I had new spark plugs. The spark plugs had been changed the year before...by Ravenscroft!!! I should point out that they did offer me the labour cost back next time I came in, but I was still around £50 out of pocket.

During the same service, I asked them to look at my handbrake. They advised I needed new shoes, so I went ahead with the work. However there seemed to be little or no difference once the shoes were fitted, so I took the car back in. It seemed to be a little better so mistakenly I accepted the car back. All year I've had issues with it, having to leave the car in gear on slight inclines/declines. So it was no surprise that when I took my car in for a service & MOT this year (2011) at another garage (ABC Cheltenham), I was told I needed new brake shoes. My handbrake is now working superbly.

The accumulation of all the above means I won't be using Ravenscroft ever again. A year or two ago I would have recommended them, but not anymore.

I would like to thank the helpful staff at Ravenscroft who when my car broke down recently gave me an informative and balanced opinion of costs of repair. They carried out the work promptly and unlike so many garages always returned my calls or contacted me to confirm any changes to our preagreed repairs.

The service area receptionist was particularly helpful and i would like to thank her particularly for her patience.
